Yeti Rides the Metro

Upon receiving my animation disc and desk while living in DC, I created
this short pencil test as a quick exercise to get back into traditional animation, which I hadn't done in a year or so. This piece was an outlet for the frustration I felt with my commute on the metro rail system.
I had developed the Yeti character months earlier as a Flash build (above, left), so I worked to simplify his design and adapt it for animating traditionally. Above right, the design is close.
Before animating, I worked through the main poses with a series of thumbnail sketches. I used these as a template for the larger drawings that would eventually become my key drawings.
